My testimony

I’m not sure the exact age I was when I received  Christ as my Savior but in fifth grade, I learned a lot of Bible verses and went to the state finals.  I came in third and was really disappointed because I knew there was one verse I couldn’t get, and that was the verse they asked me to recite when it came my time to recite.  That verse was 2 Timothy 3:16. “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:”

So even though I had learned all these Bible verses, I did not know what they meant.  It was not until much much later that I discovered through the Holy Spirit what they meant and how to apply them to my life.  I went through some very rough years before this happened, it seemed like I had wandered in the wilderness for 40 years.

One day in June 2013, I rededicated my life to the Lord, and decided I would live for Him for the rest of my life.  It was a great day. I started going back to church because I really felt like that was what I should be doing, to worship God and be with other believers. I was baptized on September 20, 2015.

My step Mother kept praying for me. So because the Holy Spirit was pursing me, I finally listened. My life changed so much for the better and good things were happening. It was about a year later that I was asked to take over the senior ladies/widows Sunday School class.  I had been attending this class because I went with my step Mom and my husband didn’t come to church with me.  I enjoy very much teaching this class and I can’t wait for more people to attend. UPDATE….I am no longer teaching this class. I am excited to see what God has for my life and where He will lead me.

  2. Hi from Sweden 🙂
I found your blogg thru your comment on Oswald Chamber’s “My Utemost for His highest”

What a beautiful testimony, God bless you and your family!!
To give God the whole heart change my life 19 years ago. I’ve been Christian in many years but never actually surrended totally to the Lord. But one day I said to Jesus (after some time of God calling me to total surrender), “Okay Jesus, here I am. I give you my whole heart and if you have any use for me I will obey you what ever it cost me or whatever people think about me” and I meant every word in that prayer. In the same second I just knew that God had heard my hearts prayer and I was filled with the Holly Spirit (new tongues I got some time later).

After that day, God has in His mercy teaching me many things and leading me/us in his will. Nothing else matters to me anymore than to do God’s will at this late hour of life before Jesus comes back.

Many Christians are afraid of God. They think that God will mess up their lives and they wants to rule their lives themselves. And yes, God’s ways are not our ways, but once you get over that threshold of fear you will find a blessed (and of course many times troubled) life. BUT God always gives strength to do what He requires of you. It is a blessed life.

And, “As your day is, so is your strength also”! Praise the Lord, it’s so true. God bless.

  4. Hey Sandy, thank-you for sharing with us again that you had a blog site. I’m honored to be your friend and your sister in The Lord. Seems many of us first heard, yet revelation came in time, sometimes a long-time. Those years in the desert serve a great purpose and prepare our hearts for the revelation of our need for a personal Savior. I’m thrilled to be on this journey with you and look upwards in faith alongside you. Love you! Mary
